WASHINGTON, June 18, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

 

Nepal: Power Development Project

 

IDA Grant: US$15.5 million equivalent

IDA Credit: US$73.7 million equivalent
Terms: Maturity = 40 years; Grace period = 10 years 

Project ID: P043311

Project Description: The objective of the Power Development Project in Nepal will help build capacity to manage the development of Nepal's hydro power potential in a prudent and sustainable manner, increase access to electricity services in rural areas, and improve the supply of electricity.
